Without a doubt, last year’s highlight was the pilot project we initiated at the Lohrberg School (Lohrbergschule) in Cologne, a project that grew out of one of our usual encounter sessions.
Cellist Andreas Müller assumed a “school sponsorship” for the Lohrbergschule after having held four meeting sessions with each class, leading up to a school recital where he shared the podium with the schoolchildren.
We are still interested in finding artists and schools who would like to get together and try out a similar project!

Once more, Rhapsody had its own stand at the congress entitled “Selbstverständlich! Cultural Education in Schools”. We are glad to have made many new, interesting contacts there.
The bi-annual congress was organized in the city of Dessau by the German Länder Foundation of the Arts (Kulturstiftung der Länder) in co-operation with the German Federal Foundation of the Arts (Kulturstiftung des Bundes).

Leading up to the opening of that congress, Antony Hermus (Chief Conductor of the Anhaltische Philharmonie in Dessau) visited a school for a session with pupils.

The ”Musiker Hautnah” Association represents "Rhapsody in School".

This association is still searching for new members and sponsors willing to support us in our work. They will enjoy the advantage of receiving recurrent invitations to the artists' school visits or concerts. Thus they too will be able to experience the artists "close at hand"! That's the German meaning of "hautnah".
