In the summer of 2009 we were able to secure the cooperation
of three new partners.
Thanks to the initiative of the RHEINGAU MUSIC FESTIVAL,
the German Postal Service’s “GelbForum”
charity concert on 28 June (Inaugural Concert II) raised
funds for our support association “Musiker Hautnah”.
Before the concert began, László Fenyö
– Solo-Cellist of the Frankfurt Radio Symphony
Orchestra and an enthusiastic active participant in
“Rhapsody In School” – thanked the
invited Deutsche Post customers by playing a solo cello
piece and telling them about his collaboration as a
volunteer for our project.
The AUDI SUMMER CONCERTS have also started endorsing
“Rhapsody in School”.
Thanks to the auto manufacturer’s support, we
were able to organize four school sessions with several
musicians at once. Thus, a great number of schoolchildren
in the town of Ingolstadt, along with pupils enrolled
in AUDI’s training programme, enjoyed the unique
opportunity of hearing the soloists play in their own
schools before they went to hear them live in concert!
You will find photos of those sessions on the AUDI
Mediaservices website, in the submenus dedicated to
the following Rhapsody artists who participated in the
projects in Ingolstadt: the Minguet Quartet, Daniel
Hope, the “Singphoniker” vocal quintet and
the Petersen Quartet. Please click on:

We also wish to thank the G. HENLE music publishing
firm for having renewed their support this year.
Meanwhile, we are maintaining and expanding our close
collaboration with Ernestine Varga’s international
“Artists In School” project, which organizes
artist encounter sessions in German-speaking and multilingual
schools outside of Germany and Austria.
Specific dates for artist encounter sessions in schools
are usually planned to coincide with their concert appearances
in local venues or in nearby towns.
If you are an interested teacher, pupil or professional
musician, please write an e-mail to artists_in_school@yahoo.com
or to svi@rhapsody-in-school.de
Once more, LARS VOGT'S SPANNUNGEN FESTIVAL in Heimbach
has introduced several new artist volunteers to our project.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all volunteer newcomers,
and to all the “Spannungen” artists who have
been helping us over the years! As in former years,
we are also glad to confirm ongoing collaboration with
a great number of concert halls, agencies, initiatives
and institutions.
One of them, the Vienna Musikverein’s youth initiative
“Allegretto”, celebrated its 20th anniversary
in September 2009.
Lars Vogt and Sabine von Imhoff were among the many
well-wishers on that happy occasion. See:www.allegretto.at
In June 2009, the Cultural Foundation of the German
Federal States (Kulturstiftung der Länder) and
the German National Cultural Foundation (Bundeskulturstiftung)
held a congress on cultural promotion and education
in the schools.
On that occasion we made a series of new contacts –
particularly with schoolteachers interested in our project.
Incidentally, we encourage all teachers to enrol their
classes and projects in the upcoming 'Kinder zum Olymp'
competition!

Before closing, we would naturally like to take this
opportunity to thank all “Rhapsody in School”
association members, our benevolent board members and
our energetic team of helpers.
We are glad for every new member or sponsor willing
to join and endorse our registered support association
